Enjoy the sweetness of the most ancient grain known to human kind: Einkorn. 

Einkorn is considered an ancient heritage grain, and we are lucky to have a local Wisconsin farmer growing and stone milling this grain. Thanks to Heartland Grains, we can present to you a unique loaf of sourdough. 

This loaf is dense with a natural sweetness that exists from the whole wheat nature of this grain. It is not mixed with any other grain, so with every bite of this loaf you get to experience an ancient heritage grain and taste of Wisconsin. 

Twice baked sourdough croissants filled with almond frangipane, vanilla bean syrup, and topped with sliced almonds. Perfectly flaky and oh so buttery, these almond croissants are truly too delicious to resist!

A classic in every German / Danish bakery our version of the Vollkornbrot is a blend of whole wheat, whole rye and buckwheat flours.

To this we add cooked rye berries and toasted sunflower seeds. This combination makes this loaf feel nourishing and deeply satisfying. 

A denser loaf it is classically eaten as open-faced with a variety of toppings like smoked fish or butter and salt.

The fifth season of the Voyageurs Bakehouse sourdough bread club is here: The Sourdough Society.

Over this 12-week, 6 feature sourdough series, you’ll join a community of sourdough enthusiasts who want to be closer to their food and the people who make it.

This season, we’re diving into the art of inclusions — the beautiful, intentional additions that transform a simple sourdough loaf into something unforgettable.

From herbs and cheeses to fruits, spices, nuts, and unexpected flavor pairings, you’ll learn how we choose them, why we combine them the way we do, and what makes each loaf truly shine.

Over 12 weeks (1 loaf every other week totally 6 loaves), you’ll enjoy a curated lineup of 3 savory and 3 sweet sourdough loaves, each handcrafted in rustic batard or boule form.

 Every loaf highlights a unique inclusion strategy, so you not only taste the magic but understand the craft behind it.

Can I change my pickup day after I register or half way through? 
No. The pickup day you select will remain the same throughout the entirety of the series. If you are out of town or unable to pick up your bread on your selected Wednesday or Friday, please send someone to pick up the loaf on your behalf. 

If I don’t like the one of the features, will I be able to choose a different loaf or receive a refund? 
The Sourdough Society is for those who are excited to explore the world of sourdough and try new breads. If there’s a loaf that doesn’t suit you, perhaps give it to a neighbor, or reinvent it into a savory bread pudding or egg bake. We will not offer refunds or loaf swaps. 

What if I forget to pickup my bread? 
If you forget to pick up your bread on a Wednesday or Friday, we'll give you a call and hold it in the Bakehouse for you until the next day. If you do not pick up, or have someone pick up on your behalf, within 2 days, then you'll forfeit that weeks pickup item. 

This sourdough features our country loaf blend with toasted and soaked sunflower, flax, and sesame seeds. The seeds add a moist, supple quality to the crumb, a wonderful aroma & taste, and not insignificantly, nutrition. (v/vg)

Are you ready to get your hands in the dough?

Step away from the everyday hustle, and step into a cozy, hands-on night in the Bakehouse, learning the art of sourdough!

We’ll kick off the evening with warm, fresh bread. The Country Loaf at its peak: golden, crusty, and perfectly airy inside. You'll have the chance to score your own Country Loaf, and watch it bake so you have something freshly bake to take home with you. 

Then it’s time to start from the beginning.

You’ll mix, fold, and shape your own dough with guidance from Ben & Celeste, learning Bakehouse techniques and tips along the way.

At the end of the night, you’ll head home with TWO loaves:

• One that has been baked at the Bakehouse and is ready to enjoy!
• The Second one that you'll proof overnight and bake at home the next day!

You'll so be able to enjoy a spread of seasonal tartines, bread and butter boards, as well as your choice of an N/A beverage. 

Bottles of wine will also be included for purchase at a discounted cost.

Decadent sourdough brioche dough made with organic pastured eggs and artisan butter, baked into hamburger bun perfection. Use this bun as the foundation for an epic burger, sandwich, or as we do in the Bakehouse, breakfast sammie!

Ingredients: Artisan Bread Flour, Organic Eggs, Butter, Sourdough Culture (Wheat Flour, Water), Whole Milk, Sugar, Sea Salt. Contains: Wheat, Eggs, Milk.

Naturally leavened croissants. A true skill to master and 3 days to make. We use the finest butter to laminate pastry and roll into perfect croissant crescent shapes. Baked until flaky and utterly irresistible.

This traditional German Christmas bread originated in Dresden in the 1400s. Legend says that the stollen, in its typical shape with the white layer of icing sugar, symbolized the swaddled Christ Child.

Naturally leavened with our sourdough starter, the Voyageurs version of the Christmas Stollen includes whole spelt flour as well as dried raisins, apricots, glazed cherries, and almonds. A log of marzipan runs through the center of the bread. 

This bread can last for a few weeks well wrapped in the refrigerator and makes a beautiful, traditional Christmas gift.

Young Voyageurs: Bake & Play

A hands-on cinnamon roll adventure for your little baker

Spark your child’s creativity and confidence in the kitchen with our most playful Voyageurs class yet — designed especially for our youngest sourdough enthusiasts.

In this 2-hour kid-friendly workshop, children ages 4–10 (but you know your kid!) will step behind the scenes of the Bakehouse to learn real baking skills in a fun, encouraging environment.

What’s Included

Kids will learn how to:

• Roll dough out, and fill cinnamon filling
  

• How to cut cinnamon rolls, and safely use a kid-appropriate knife
  

• Follow simple “Rules of the Bakehouse” 

Each child will leave with their own Take & Bake Cinnamon Roll (Value of $25) to enjoy at home.

Apron & Bakers Cap to Take Home
Every participant gets a charming mini apron and baker’s cap, which will allow them to step into a whole new world and imagination while in the Bakehouse. It is also a keepsake to inspire baking long after class ends.

Play Portion
Each child receives a piece of dough + a tray of toppings to create anything they can dream up: teddy bears, dinosaurs, monsters, pastries from another planet — if they can imagine it, they can shape it!

Snacks & Drinks Included
Kid-friendly, sourdough-focused snacks and a drink of their choice are provided.
