It's our 1st Birthday! 🥳
Well, well, well... We made it. The Bakehouse is celebrating its FIRST BIRTHDAY on Wednesday, March 10th! And we couldn't be more thankful.
Did you know... ?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, data shows that approximately 20% of new businesses fail during the first two years of being open, 45% during the first five years, and 65% during the first 10 years.
Layer those odds with opening a business right when a global pandemic hits... well, let's just say there were a few added "threats" that were not included in our original SWOT analysis & business plan.
But because of all of you, we are here. Doors open, oven on, team employed, and serving to the best of our abilities.
So thank YOU.
Thank you for ordering online. Thank you for walking through our doors. Thank you for your compliments. Thank you for your ideas. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
Our gratitude goes beyond what we can put here in words.
A common question that we've been asked is,
"What do you contribute the success of the Bakehouse to in its first year during a pandemic?”
There are many factors that play into this, but there's one key thing that stands out:
Our home delivery service & team.
It was an established part of our business when we opened the Bakehouse in March 2020. Upon having to close our Bakehouse doors just 7 days after opening them, we immediately expanded our home delivery offerings. We went from delivering one day a week to four days the following week.
While this type of abrupt and necessary evolution came with a steep learning curve and many mistakes, you've been there alongside us, cheering us on and being gracious with us as we've taken our learnings in stride.
All of you have been there to support us and help see us through this first year of business.
What started as a dream has become a reality. Thank you for being here with us. It is a pleasure to get to do what we do every day and serve our community by providing traditional hand-crafted bread.
We look forward to serving you for many years to come.
