Holiday Brie-Dazzled - Rosemary Olive Oil & Baked Brie
The holidays are in full swing and that means it's time to start thinking about your entertaining menus.
Typically, I wait until the last minute to plan things out, and then I’m left scrambling around trying to get everything in order creating chaos around me as I do it.
It’s not a pretty sight, and generally stresses everyone else out around me!
This year, I'm trying to delegate as much as possible, and find recipes that can be prepped ahead of time, and finished with ease.
With the new Rosemary Olive Oil Wreath at the Bakehouse, I wanted to find a beautiful recipe that resembled a wreath, and was simple to accomplish.
Thus... my new Holiday Brie-Dazzled Wreath recipe came to light.
Follow along with these simple instructions to make a beautiful Brie-Dazzled wreath.
STEP 1: Get your ingredients and equipment
Pre-Order your Rosemary Olive Oil Wreath (Or a similar loaf of sourdough). You can pre-order on our website here.
You'll also need the following.
INGREDIENTS:
- Loaf of Voyageurs Bakehouse sourdough
- 1 wheel of Brie or Camembert
- 1/3 cup Berry Jam (we love Bonne Maman Mixed Berries Reserves) or Chutney
- Garnish: Pomegranate seeds or Cranberries, Sprigs of Rosemary
EQUIPMENT:
- Star cookie cutter
- Bread knife
- Oven Safe Serving Pan
STEP 2: Prepare your Brie & Bread
THE BRIE:
In the middle of the wheel of cheese, cut all the way through so you are left with two round slices.
With your cookie cutter, cut into the center of one of them, allowing the middle for your jam to shine through.
Set your bottom half of the brie into the baking pan or dish. Spread the jam on top of the brie. Place the other half of the brie (the half with the cutout) on top of the jam.
THE BREAD:
If using the Rosemary Olive Oil Wreath, you can slice the entire wreath into wedges. You'll have nice slices to then insert around the Brie. Prepare this in advance so once your Brie is half way through baking, you're ready to add the bread in Step 4.
STEP 3: Baking the Brie
Pre-heat your oven to 350F. Bake the brie in your pan at 350 for 15 minutes. This will get the Brie starting to melt, and the jam sizzling a little.
After 15 minutes, remove from the oven. Increase the oven temperature to 450F.
STEP 4: Add your bread
Add the slices of bread around the Brie on the outer round, completing your wreath.
Once your oven is up to temperature, place the pan that now has the Brie & the Bread, back into the oven for another 5-7 minutes.
The brie will start to melt out of the side and into the bread.
Remove from the oven before it is fully melted.
STEP 5: Garnish & Serve
Add your garnish on top of the Brie, and sprigs of rosemary between slices, and you're ready to serve.
Friendly Reminder!
If using an oven safe pan, remember to put an ovenmit on the handle so your guests don't accidentally grab a hot pan handle!
